The Southern Oregon Transcript The Southern
Oregon Transcript was
Medford's second newspaper, surviving from July 22, 1887 until
March 27, 1888. The whereabouts of surviving
copies are unknown. A photocopy of one issue from 1887 can be found in
the files of the Southern Oregon Historical Society and transcribed here.
An 1888 issue can be found on
microfilm on Miscellaneous Newspapers Reel 32 at the University of
Oregon; this issue can also be viewed by clicking the links below. The
original copy is on file at the Southern Oregon Historical Society
Research Library in Medford, Oregon, M77F2. Published
by Charles
Boynton Carlisle, the Transcript varied in format, judging from
the two known copies.
