LOCAL PEOPLE IN 'PINTO' CARTOONS
VANCE COLVIG GAINING FAME WITH RADIO COMICS.
Ben Plymale, Wilson Wait and Winsor Gale Have Names Broadened.

    Vance ("Pinto") Colvig, of San Francisco, the clever Medford cartoonist and son of Judge Wm. L. Colvig, is rapidly gaining more prominence with his work. His latest series is now running daily in many of the prominent newspapers of the United States, and has made a hit with the public by its wit, humor and philosophy. It is entitled "Radio Comics" and is based on the radio craze.
    Vance recently featured in a humorous cartoon in this series some of his old Medford chums and schoolmates, and his nephew, Winsor Gale. The scene represents a mother seated in her home listening to the latest town radio news. Suddenly she exclaims to herself: "What, my boy not in school today?" as she hears coming from the radiophone a bulletin sent out by the school teacher, which says:
    "The children absent from the fifth grade this afternoon are Harry Childs, Wilson Wait, Ben Plymale and Winsor Gale."
